Atomic Eight founder, Sylvanna, is a well-studied Nutrologist that made it her mission to help her community have a healthier life by bringing fermented products to the forefront. Ours, to connect her new company to its audience.

For this project, I assisted Muna as Creative Director, working closely with the team to create a charming visual identity based on a neatly-crafted brand strategy that spoke directly to Atomic Eight's customers at every touchpoint.
THE COMPANY
With so many products made to last on the shelves, people have forgotten about the importance of organisms living in fermented products that can benefit our health. Atomic Eight is here to change that. With its handcrafted products, the company aims to bring good taste and quality to energetic young people willing to improve their health and those surrounding them through a consistent, healthy diet.
DISCOVERY
Muna's Creative Director, Frankie Zek, sat with Founder Sylvanna to craft the brand strategy for the company's first product launch. Over a facilitated discovery session, they identified the brand's key pillars and the company's needs and goals.

The insights uncovered during this process became the foundation for the branding and defined the brand's personality: how it should look, sound and act. In addition, understanding the company's context helped determine its unique positioning and set the tone for the communication strategy.
THE AUDIENCE
To understand and empathise with the customers' wants and needs, we created unique user profiles that represent the distilled essence of real customers, clearly showing their demographics, psychographics, needs and wants.

The data gathered during the discovery session allowed us to make informed decisions throughout the project. For instance, the client struggled to choose between the three visual identity concepts we presented. She liked them all and couldn't decide which one to choose. By having user profiles, our client could think as her customer allowing her to make informed decisions quicker and more confidently.

DESIGN
Muna developed an entire identity system to ensure every customer touchpoint reflected the brand. This included the logo, colour palette, typeface, packaging, and other design elements.
ART DIRECTION & PACKAGING
Soft, airy, loving, warm. Atomic Eight brand colours reflect its close-knit community of young and energetic caregivers. It's also used to colour code and organise various design systems across the brand, including but not limited to flavours.
ILLUSTRATION
The brand's aesthetic was inspired by the microorganisms that live in fermented products and the bubbles observed during the fermentation period. The pattern used across their visual communication is composed of marks made with ink that evoke a feeling of freedom and lightness, representing the powerful energy of nature.

THE IMPACT
The final design connected with the customers and made the founder proud. The company entered the market successfully with three flavoured kombuchas gaining loyal customers all over town.
