DEAR FUTURE POSTCARD

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
To signal the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1900, an obscure commercial artist called Jean Marc Coté conceived a series of drawings that conveyed his vision of the world in the year 2000. The popularity of these images meant that they kept reappearing in different formats during the first decades of the century. Since then not only did these images enter our collective imagination, but also were created to capture different futures.

The purpose of "Dear Future" is to collect ten visions of how Lisbon could be in the year 2113, exactly a century after the 2013 Triennale, echoing Coté's original undertaking. For this were invited several teams to layout their visions in a postcard format. By purchasing and sending the postcards the audience is contributing to a large exhibition par avion that is impossible to guess where and when it's going to end.
