The Randall Barn - Ad

This was a half page ad for the Married In Meade County Magazine. It is for a venue actually in nearby Breckenridge County (basically just across the Meade County border). It used to be an old family barn that was used for around 100 years before it eventually fell into disrepair. The younger generation of the Randall family had an idea to turn part of the farm into a venue for weddings, concerts, and more. They spent many months renovating the inside of the main structure and build the entire hardwood floor on the first level and modified the barn loft into a stage. They added a full bar and small seating areas on the main floor. The entire interior seating can be changed depending on the event being held on site.

The barn was already beautiful (if you like old barns), but the renovations and modifications took it to the next level! The Randall family has an incredible venue for any events you may have.

They had no logo, font, colors, or anything to use for marketing. They only had some images on their Facebook and Instagram pages. I decided to construct the ad around some photos of the finished exterior of the barn in the background with a few smaller images of the renovated interior on the opposite side of the ad from the barn. It's still a rustic look so I kept that theme with the white-washed barn wood at the bottom of the ad and the "rough print" opacity mask of the smaller photos.

I used the main image of the barn as a basis for a vector "icon" to use in their logo. I picked a kind of Western, rustic font for the logo and the entire ad. I kept the same white color in the ad copy and all the logo so there was unity among the elements. I then added the Randall barn Facebook and Instagram addresses (with the icons) at the bottom of the ad with a white outline around the text so to "lift" them off the ad background.
