People of South Africa photo essay series. This series follows Pheliswa Hlasela and was worked on over a period of 12 weeks. Pheliswa was 7 months pregnant with her second baby when I met her. We were told to document difference so I wanted to meet someone who was my age and a female in South Africa but had a completely different life to me. The theme of motherhood ran through the series and it really hit home how much privilege I was born into.
