Allie Dolly Animation Vector
For this project, I wanted to continue working with my idea of the Allie Dolly poster. I wanted to bring the elements to life (the sheep, the moon, and the most important, my focal point in my poster, the aliens) Through movement, I wanted to communicate the essence and in a certain way the personlity of each element.
Each alien has its own expression and movement, the alien in the center was the only one that turns its head, while the other two moved from front to back playing with the depth of field. The sheep, on the other hand, has a particular role, it only seeks in a certain way to go unnoticed without any such important role despite having it. Finally the moon is in constant motion trying to attract the attention of the aliens
Sketches / Assets
Here, I adapted the first idea of my poster to the animation video. I placed the aliens in the same order, with the moon below them. And added the sheep behind them too. I wanted to have an overview of how they are going to move and how the movements were going to look.
Process / Drafts
Here, I just worked with the moon and the sheep. I applied almost the same movement to each of them. However, I decided to apply the feedback I received.
Feedback: my classmates provided me with really good feedback about what I can do. First, they mentioned that the moon and sheep were competing for their attention. They suggested slowing down the moon's rotation or changing the movement of the sheep.
They also suggested adding some movement to the aliens, especially, to the head.
Final Result
For my final product, I decided to maintain just a lineal movement for the sheep, so both the sheep and moon has different movements. I also decided to move the head only for the alien in the center. Finally, I also decided to play with the depth of field by using the alien of the right and left. I think I was able to communicate my message of the relevance and personality that each of my elements has.
