Crypto starts with Bitvavo
The Bitvavo platform was launched in 2018 with the goal of bridging
the gap between traditional currencies and digital assets.
We helped to identify and improve important user pains.
Approach
We did the entire redesign (both UX and UI) of the Bitvavo mobile
and web apps. We started by reviewing the app to diagnose visible
and hidden issues that might affect user experience or cause development difficulties.
Usability testing
A usability testing study was selected as the method to verify how intuitive, useful, and attractive the main Total Processing processes are to a group of users. It involved observing them as they were attempting to complete task-based scenarios interacting with the TP processes.
Thanks to observing the tasks that succeeded, failed, or were passed with difficulty, issues in the application were identified. Some of them were common among all respondents, and others were indicated
only by single participants.
Wireframing
After identifying problems in the Bitvavo platform, uncovering opportunities to improve, and learning about their target users’
behaviour and preferences, we started working on the wireframe to make onboarding seamless and the transaction experience fast but trustworthy.
Next, we had to work on visual hierarchy by building contrasts
and organizing the elements to provide the best visual hierarchy both when it comes to the layout and colors.
User Interface & Interactions
We crafted a design and developed an advanced prototype that prioritized simplicity and clarity, ensuring that users could easily understand and interact with the key features.
Price alerts
One of the key functionalities is price alerts, which allow users
to react more efficiently to fluctuations in the value of specific assets.
We designed the alerts to use animations that enhance the message.
Settings & Security
Sensitive account settings, especially those related to security, were one of the application’s global priorities.
Wallet management
Optimal management of the cryptocurrency wallet required the creation of a consistent and convenient user interface.
Adding funds to an account
Quick and efficient adding of funds to a Bitvavo account is based
on existing screens related to bank transfers.
Light mode version
The light mode version is a response to the needs and preferences
of users, emphasising the individual nature of the application.
Web application
The desktop version of the application is also a response to the needs of customers to conveniently manage their accounts and wallets.
