Kain Tayo
Kain Tayo is an animated film reimagining the Philippines 50 years into the future, with rising rates and scarcity of local produce in the market. It is an animated film, directed by Ienne Junsay, dealing with food security and inflation.

ROLE
I made the graphic elements/advertisements for three sections of Ienne Junsay’s animated film, Kain Tayo. The direction and treatment for these ads took inspiration from local palengke stalls, with animated risograph objects animated by the Kain Tayo team.
With the use of kitschy fonts and texture treatments, the local produce has a tactile quality that looks artificial. The goal of these ads was to put into perspective how inflation rates have soared, to the point where it’s unrealistic, sarcastic even.
