I want to talk about personal symbols of resilience - my family, my grandparents and great- grandparents. All those who fought in the First World War, the Revolution and the Second World War. Here and now, we, the children of our family, are going through the war in Ukraine. Different people of the family had different stories and participated in different historical events, and sometimes directly influenced the course of history, walking side by side with key people.
My grandmother was a refugee, her brother was a partisan in World War II. Another grandmother was a child of war and her mother did everything possible so that the children could survive the Holodomor. My grandfather was a German interpreter in a concentration camp, and after escaping from it he was an interpreter for the partisans of Slovakia, who were then led by Bros Tito, later the current president of Slovakia. It was while he was president that Tito rescued my grandfather from exile on Solovki and cleared his name of the stigma of being an enemy of the people. Before and during the revolution, his father was a member of the Zeleny gang (they tolerated Danilo Ilković, a public figure and revolutionary). His other great- grandfather was wounded and shell-shocked in World War II and returned from the war crippled. All of these people survived and continued the Moroz, Prokhnitsky, Didenko,
Travianko family line, and now they are symbols of resilience for me.
In my works, I speak about the resilience of my family, which is one of the many representatives of Ukrainian society that has always fought and is now defending its right to
live freely in a free country of Ukraine.

For over three years, I have been working on a project exploring the issues of cultural values in families where Ukrainian and Polish traditions are intertwined. I based this project on the personal experience of my own family, where this experience is directly present. However, with the onset of the full-scale war in Ukraine, this project had to undergo transformation, and now it has two independent series that resonate with one idea - "Double Bar Code" executed in the collage technique and "NIDUM" created in the graphic technique. The film "My River Ba" is currently temporarily on hold.
