Trotec Laser are the guys making the laser cutter in FabCafé Barcelona. I love working with a laser cutter. It gives me time to think on the design and add crazy details without worrying about how the hell I'll be supposed to cut it by hand.
Trotec es la gente que fabrica la cortadora láser del FabCafé Barcelona. Me encanta trabajar con este trasto porque me quita tiempo de dejarme los ojos cortando detalles y me deja más tiempo para diseñar.
This month they commissioned an original piece to be set up at Graphispag, an international fair on printing and such. I wanted to make something with my pop-up business cards since they are laser cut as well. I thought anything with a lot of houses should be... a town!
I sort of lost control and ended up making my most complex papercraft to date.
Este es un encargo para la Graphispag, una feria internacional de artes gráficas que se hace en la Fira Barcelona. Quería hacer algo con mis tarjetas de visita, que al fin y al cabo están cortadas a láser.
Al final la cosa se me fue de las manos y terminé con el papercraft más complejo que he hecho hasta la fecha.
That's the initial sketch. I wanted to add all sorts of characters and stories to my landscape so your eye could wander around.
