Zuckerman Institute Partners with BioBus

WDF Inc. is committed to building a strong team of professionals to provide the design, project management, and business acumen expected from one of the leading plumbing, HVAC, and contracting companies in the nation. WDF Inc. has been involved in a number of large-scale construction projects, including transportation systems, infrastructure projects, and educational facilities. One of these projects, the Jerome L. Greene Science Center, houses the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University, which has announced a new partnership with BioBus to deliver educational opportunities to children in the Bronx and upper Manhattan.

BioBus was created by Ben Dubin-Thaler, a former Columbia graduate student, as a mobile lab-on-wheels. Stuffed with research-grade scientific equipment, the bus has had more than 500,000 visitors. As part of the partnership with the Zuckerman Institute, BioBus will visit 100 schools in Washington Heights, Harlem, and the Bronx every year, providing a hands-on science introduction to over 30,000 students. Following their visit to the BioBus, students can enroll in BioBase programs in the Zuckerman Institute’s Education Lab. Students will be able to partner with scientists and participate in in-depth science projects after school, on weekends, and during school breaks.
