I wantedto explore Grahamstowns unique heritage while illustrating the young vibrancywhich Grahamstown cultivates from the various schools and the university. Iphotographed sites in town which for me represented Grahamstown and are uniqueto Grahamstown.  I used typography in this series listing the various landmarks ofGrahamstown and to create a vertical tension with the images on the postcards.My colour scheme is vibrant and unusual to represent the energy of Grahamstownand my typeface’s are a combination of modern and old to show the blend of oldand new in Grahamstown.  I aimed to create a unusual postcard series which blended theold colonial heritage of Grahamstown with the younger more weird and wonderfulenergy which makes Grahamstown the town which keeps people coming back againand again, by combining my colour scheme, typefaces, images and with verticaltension in the design I think I have achieved this combination of old and new.
