'DISOBEY' Summer Project

Type Commandment Summer Project
DISOBEY is based on Paul Fenton's fourth type commandment, 'Remember that a typeface that is not legible is not truly a typeface.' I chose to visually communicate this through an illegible typographic to encourage creatives to disobey the rule and not limit their creativity.

Originally a summer project before commencing the second year of my degree, I also submitted my
poster to be exhibited in the Made In Roath 2017 community arts festival in the 'Brynteg Creates'
exhibition curated by the head of art department in my old secondary school. A local estate agents
in Roath, Cardiff was used as the venue showcasing the work of previous art students.

The three dimensional experimentation below intends to extend the idea of exploring creativity through illegibility. Projecting the typographic onto different compositions of blocks produced engaging outcomes that show the depth of typography on various plains - a metaphor for ideas not just being one dimensional.
