This can range from anything from pop punk to death metal dude. Slipknot Skull You call it demonic because you hear screaming shirt. Some bands are shit, some bands are great. This is like saying “normie music sucks” like what the fuck does that even mean? You seem to also only focus on vocals which are absolutely not what metal is about. Metal is more about the aggressive and powerful instrumentation. The vocals, while still important, only add to this energy. Lyrically I can’t say bands like Slipknot or Avenged Sevenfold are the best, but come on dude, to shit on an entire RANGE of genres because of two or three bands doesn’t make sense. IMO all their albums are wonderful in their own way. Crack the Skye is my all time favorite, but Blood Mountain is pretty impressive too. I know it wasn’t exactly what people were expecting from them, but Once More Around the Sun is really great and I like every single song off that album. Been listening to them for about ten years now, and tbh I also really enjoy the schadenfreude of all the super-snobby trve metalhead types who got really invested in AN getting so mad when they started using clean vocal choruses, breakdowns and dubstep parts.

I agree, it’s silly how people can feel personally offended by it. The main criticism I find myself making of some artists is that all their songs/albums sound the same. A T-shirt design near me. I like a little evolution and experimentation. Sabaton’s most recent album, Heroes is awesome. Check out Night Witches and Resist and Bite for my 2 fav tracks. The new Blind Guardian album, Beyond the Red Mirror, is literally the best thing in the world. The Throne is my favorite song off of it. And I still totally listen to Dream Evil’s Dragonslayer album all the way through way too much. All of Opeth before Watershed, Moonsorrow is also a long-time favourite, as is The Devin Townsend Band. I used to travel for up to an hour to get to school, and I used Moonsorrow’s album Viides Luku – Hävitetty as a timeline, I could tell exactly when I had to get ready for the bus-train transfer, and when I was almost at school, such beautiful songs to travel with!
