WILL THEY OR WON'T THEY?
I was commissioned to capture this tender moment between my clients' characters- Arien and Validus - from their campaign in a game of Dungeons and Dragons because when you're at war, who knows if it's your last?
One of the beautiful things about playing DnD, and any RPG in general:
You know that when you've engrossed yourself in the journey you embarked on with your friends, you’ll find it difficult to see through your quest til the end. Because it gets harder saying goodbye and accepting the finality of your adventure, especially when you consider the amount of time and effort you’ve invested to build this deep, emotional bond with the team.
D&D and RPGs soothe me with the message of learning to let go. Of people we love, because we can't keep them chained to us. We can only hold their hands. It's a reminder to let go of things we can’t control, and finding peace in the knowledge that we’ve at least done something to alleviate the situation we were in- even though we failed.
