Smoke and Mirrors

One of my recent contract themes had me so inspired, I decided to keep goin with the motivation and make some western style vectors. I’ve always been a huge fan of revolvers. From their aesthetics, to their mechanics. They fit in your hand like a well balanced added appendage. What a beautifully straight forward and streamlined object. Why not honor its beauty and history with a simple graphic that showcases it by itself. Because it doesn’t need any added elements to shine alone.
I started this concept in Procreate. Playing around with the new brush packs I bought from Jimmy Xia (jingsketch). I highly recommend them. There’s a great selection.
Once I got a basic design I was happy with, I threw it into Illustrator and started mapping my grid and rulers. Laid out my layers and started building my shapes. After some fine tuning, I pasted it into Photoshop and tweaked a few things around.
This was a fun lil piece. Makes me wanna do a series of these XD
